UNPO: Hmong: Professional Network to Connect Different Generations of Diaspora Community

http://diasporasnews.com/ Mai Zong Vue, an influential activist for the Hmong in the US, has established the first network of Hmong professionals in Madison, Wisconsin. The network aims to foster a sense of community within the Hmong diaspora in the region, and develop leadership skills incentivising younger generations to be actively involved in volunteering in the community. The network also seeks to establish a greater presence of Hmong professionals in the community writ large. After years of being forced to respond that there was no such group, this year she decided to start the first Hmong professional networking organization in Dane County.
